Estefana Trujillo Williams(Fannie)
Estefana Trujillo Williams passed away in San Pedro on March 16, 2014 at the age of 89. She died peacefully in comfort surrounded be her family. Fannie was born on December 26 1924 in Miami Arizona. She was the daughter to Jose and Feliciana Trujillo. In 1941 at the age of 17 she spent 2 of her summer vacations in San Pedro living with her aunt Toni. She worked at Bethlehem Steel in Terminal Island cleaning bolts for war ships. In 1945 she married the love of her life Gilbert Williams in Miami, Arizona. They stayed for 6 months. In 1946 they moved to San Pedro where they had 2 children, Esther and Gilbert. Fannie worked actively in the interest of children all during the time her own children were growing up. She was a past president of Barton Hill P.T.A. and received an Honorary Life Membership Award. As a sports enthusiast she was one of the founders of the Cabrillo Bay League Champion Baseball Team of which her son Gilbert was a member. Because of her versatility, she not only organized the parents, she worked the concession stand. From 1957 to 1968 she was a noon aide at Barton Hill and Taper Avenue Schools. In 1968 Fannie joined the staff at the Harbor City Wee Tot School as a Director. In 1977 the school closed and she was transferred to the San Pedro Wee Tot School where she worked until she retired in 1989. To everyone who knew Fannie you will never forget her infectious laugh, dancing and her generous hospitality. She was a sports enthusiast and loved her Dodgers and USC Trojans. Fannie is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Gilbert Williams, her brothers; Jimmy, Leo and her sister Jenny. She is survived by her daughter Esther (Lloyd) Cale; her son Gilbert (Georgine) Williams; her grandchildren, Paul (Norma) Rivera and Nick, Jeff (Stephaine) Lomeli; her great-grandchildren, Dominique and Christian Rivera; and her loving brothers and sister. Manuel (Irene) Trujillo; Tommy (Ayissa) Carbajal; sister Lucille(Marion) Gonzales; brother-in-laws George (Josephine), Dave (Bea) Eddy Williams, sisters-in-laws Margaret Trujillo and Bonnie Williams; many nieces and nephews and her little dog Trixie. We would like to thank the staff at Seacrest Convalescent Nursing Home and St. Luz Hospice for their wonderful support and care. A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 9:30am at Holy Trinity Church. A private service will be on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Riverside National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
