David Albert Kaye passed away on June 22, 2013. He will be greatly missed by his family; Karen, his loving wife of fifty-seven years; his five children, Debbie, Terri, Gregory, Shelly, and Jeffrey; his fourteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Dave was the epitome of the family man and treasured the time he spent with his family.
The Guest Book is expired.
Dave was born on July 23, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to Viola and Harold Kaye. He graduated from high school in Angola, Indiana and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He then went on to work in the Aerospace Industry until his retirement in 1992.
Retirement did not slow him down. He and Karen continued to travel the world. He was intrigued by different people and their cultures. He enjoyed traveling to new places, having new adventures, and trying different foods. Dave captured many memories through his love of photography. Upon his return from each trip, he would share his pictures and stories with family and friends.
While at home, Dave was always involved with a project or two improving his home, his fish ponds, his yard or a car. Amazingly, he also found time to golf, do woodworking and pursue other hobbies. He was always designing some new inventive way of solving a problem or making something work better. Dave was always willing to use his problem solving skills to give advice and help others.
Everyone who knew Dave admired and respected him. He was a 'fantastic' man. We were all blessed to have had him in our lives. Dave will be remembered for his quick wit, intelligent mind, loving nature, and gentle soul. He will be forever loved by his family and friends.
His family is having a private service to celebrate his life.
